Susan Lawrence Susan Lawrence is a psychoanalyst in full-time private practice in London. She is a Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and teaches and supervises in the UK and internationally. She recently helped edit two books, Bion 365 by Nicola Abel Hirsch, and Illusion, Disillusion and Irony in Psychoanalysis by John Steiner. She has been the Chair of Outreach for the BPAS, and initiated the BPAS e-learning programme. She is a member of the Melanie Klein Trust.

Margaret Rustin is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist, and Adult Psychotherapist, and an associate of the British Psychoanalytical Society.

M. Rustin trained as a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist at the Tavistock Clinic, London. In 1985, Rustin became head of the Tavistock child psychotherapy training. She was also a central figure in the life of the institution as a whole and, between 1987 and 2009, assumed various significant positions including: Vice Dean, Child and Family Department; Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Chair of the Professional Committee; and, from 2003-5, Executive Director.

Rustin has always been a prolific and generous writer, initiating and sharing with others several books, which include the joint editorship of and contributor to: Closely Observed Infants; Assessment in Child Psychotherapy; Work Discussion: Learning from Reflective Practice in Work with Children and Families; Young Child Observation: A Development in the Theory and Method of Infant Observation; Psychotic States in Children, and most recently, Short-term Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, Reading Klein (co-author Michael Rustin).

Catalina Bronstein is a Training and Supervising Analyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society, and its former President. She is also a visiting Professor in the Psychoanalysis Unit at University College London. For the past 25 years she has worked at the Brent Centre for Young People, She is also part of numerous international workshops and committees.

Bronstein’s analytic writing is informed predominantly by the work of Sigmund Freud, the French school, and the Kleinian analysts. Bronstein has also found inspiration in the work of Hanna Segal, Betty Joseph, Wilfred Bion, Herbert Rosenfeld, Madeleine and Willy Baranger, Jacques Lacan, and Julia Kristeva.

Bronstein has published numerous papers and books, Bronstein has written on a variety of subjects, including Melanie Klein and Wilfred Bion, psychosomatic phenomena, adolescent pathology, the place of the body in psychoanalysis, and issues related to female sexuality. She has also explored the role of delusion and hallucinations, and their connection to early anxieties, unconscious phantasies and symbol formation. Teaching internationally is an important part of her work.

David Bell

A training analyst of the British Psychoanalytical Society, who served as its President from 2010 to 2012, Bell was a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Adult Department at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, where he was Director of Postgraduate Training for many years. He also led a specialist service (the Fitzjohns Unit) for the treatment of patients with enduring and complex problems. He was the 2012-13 Professorial Fellow at Birkbeck College and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London (UCL)., Bell has published numerous papers and book chapters. As a National Health Service (NHS) psychiatrist, he advocates for the survival of the psychoanalytic perspective in the public sector, and regularly teaches younger generations of colleagues across many disciplines. He also has a talent for articulating complex ideas in a clear and convincing way in media interviews.

David Taylor has had a distinguished career as a Training Analyst, and as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist in the public sector. He is a visiting professor at University College London, a trustee of the Melanie Klein Trust, and a member of the Board of the British Psychoanalytical Society with responsibility for research.

He was appointed a consultant at the Tavistock Clinic in 1981. He held prominent positions, including Chair of the Tavistock’s Adult Services and medical director of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust.

He has led Adult Depression Study (TADS) Taylor undertook TADS first in partnership with Phil Richardson, and later with Peter Fonagy. It has already been adopted by a German trial and will be used in a planned replication of TADS in Switzerland.

Gigliola Fornari Spoto is the Chair of the Melanie Klein Trust. She received her medical training in Italy and psychoanalytic training at the British Psychoanalytical Institute where she is a Training and Supervising Analyst; former Chair of the Education Committee; current Chair of Admissions. Teaching throughout Europe, published papers on perversion and femininity and the Oedipal Complex. Editor of Eric Brenman’s „The Recovery of the Lost Good Object”, Routledge, 2006.

Gustaw Sikora is a Fellow of British Psychoanalytic Society and a training analyst of Polish Psychoanalytic Society. Also, he currently serves as a president of Polish Society. He was trained as psychiatrist in Poland where he established and was the first director of Personality Disorder Unit, first in Poland in-patient ward for severely disturbed patients with personality disorders. He teaches in Poland, UK and other countries.
