The postgraduate program on Business English for Professionals is designed for individuals seeking effective communication in business, acquiring new competencies in various business spheres, and enhancing their current business communication skills to increase their job market prospects, access more prestigious positions in international companies, or start their own businesses.
All classes are conducted by practitioners – professionals with experience in working with individuals with diverse language and business developmental needs concerning personal growth and communication competencies. Lecturers
She holds a doctoral degree (discipline: linguistics), a master’s degree (English Studies with a teaching specialization), and a bachelor’s degree (English Studies with a business specialization). She received a very good grade on the C1-level Spanish language exam as part of her English doctoral program at the University of Warsaw. Her professional experience in academic teaching dates back to 2009, encompassing Polish institutions, such as the University of Warsaw, The Open University of the University of Warsaw, SWPS University in Warsaw, Academy of Social Sciences in Warsaw, University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce, and currently the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw. She has also cooperated with institutions outside of Poland, including the European Education Center in Yangon, University of Vic, and University of Zagreb. She is an academic lecturer, speaker at international conferences, and has presented papers in academic institutions located in Warsaw, Wrocław, Vilnius, Pécs, Bremen, Luxembourg, Madrid, Riga, Washington, Los Angeles, or Castelló. She has authored scientific articles on business, language education, and language teacher training, including research studies related to promoting multilingualism in academic environments, as well as book chapters and reviews. Since 2007, she has been conducting Business English courses and has coordinated English-language study programs (English Studies and International Business Relations). She has offered specialized business courses, such as Marketing and Advertising, Business Environment, Personal Brand Building and Public Speaking, Key Professional and Business Skills, Presentations, Business Vocabulary, Writing and Grammar in Business, and more. She has experience working with international business executives and professionals and has provided written translations of political-business texts for the US Embassy in Vienna. She has co-organized an international conference, translated project materials and consulted language-related research and agreements. She is the author and coordinator of the Business English for Professionals postgraduate studies and the practical English language program for undergraduate English Philology studies at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.
An engineer and Director of Research focusing on introducing new technologies to emerging markets. Paul Barratt, the founder and CEO of Bridge Medical, possesses 25 years of experience in medical technology, spanning research and development engineering as well as clinical research leadership. He has a wide range of experience in medical devices, from diagnostic technology to surgical instruments and implants.
Paul moved to Warsaw from Minnesota, USA in 2006. Shortly after arriving, he worked in the GE research and development center in Warsaw, where he served as a program manager, aiding in integrating operations between Warsaw and offices in the United States and Italy. During this time, he also worked on developing collaborations with doctors and medical centers across Europe.
In 2008, he left GE to work full-time in medical research, supporting clinical trials in Europe for US-based companies. This led to CE marking for devices in cardiology, urology, and neurology. In the United States, Paul worked as a research and development engineer and program manager for established start-ups. The companies he worked with in the US became part of Medtronic, Boston Scientific, and Olympus.
His areas of expertise include cardiology, peripheral vascular surgery, hyperbaric therapy, urology, gynecology, general surgery, wound care, and neurology. Paul holds a master’s degree in mechanical and biomedical engineering from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from the University of Quebec in Montreal and Warsaw School of Economics, and a professional engineer’s license in the state of Minnesota. He holds four patents for heart treatment and laparoscopic electrosurgery.
An andragogist and Doctor of Social Sciences in the field of pedagogy. She works at the Department of Lifelong Learning and Andragogy at the Faculty of Education, University of Warsaw. Her theoretical and research interests include adult education, biography, and biographical studies. She focuses on topics related to education digitization, innovative remote work methods, contemporary career patterns, intercultural learning, learning in later adulthood, and senior policy. She is particularly interested in remote education, innovative solutions in remote education, edutainment techniques, and technological modernization of education. She is currently conducting research in these areas. She also leads classes related to the digitization of education and innovative remote work methods. She is a member of the Academic Andragogical Society and has practical experience in adult education. For the past 10 years, she has been involved in glottodidactics, language education, including teaching Polish to foreigners. She excels in English language proficiency, including both spoken and written communication (she also conducts classes in English).

Mateusz Kowalik, an educator with over twenty years of experience in teaching management and marketing, both in Polish and English. He gained his teaching experience at the Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences (2001-2010), SWPS University (2006-2021), and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (2006 to the present).
From 2013 to 2020, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Center for East Asian Civilization and Coordinator of Asian Studies at SWPS University, where he was responsible for managing and organizing the curriculum of the program. He implemented the principles of the „changemaking skills” and „changemaking learning outcomes” programs of Ashoka’s quality education initiative at SWPS University.
At the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, he has been consistently ranked among the top three educators. He is also the creator of e-learning courses in marketing based on puzzle-based learning.
He advised numerous startups during their incubation phase on marketing strategies. He was also the regional coordinator of the „Innovation Factory” project, responsible for project management and promotion on behalf of PJATK. Under the „e-self-reliance” project, he conducted training on „Marketing for Small Businesses” and „Whisper Marketing.”
He also has experience in conducting specialized language courses for corporate clients and has undertaken numerous oral and written translations. Besides teaching, his biggest passion is Google advertising, in which he is a certified expert.im. Swoje doświadczenie dydaktyczne zdobywał w Wyższej Szkole Społeczno-Ekonomicznej (2001-2010), Uniwersytecie SWPS (2006-2021) oraz Polsko-Japońskiej Akademii Technik Komputerowych (2006 do chwili obecnej).
W latach 2013-2020 pełnił funkcję zastępcy Kierownika Centrum Cywilizacji Azji Wschodniej oraz koordynatora Studiów Azjatyckich na USWPS, gdzie odpowiadał za zarządzanie i organizację dydaktyki kierunku. W swojej pracy dydaktycznej wdrożył zasady „changemaking skills” i „changemaking learning outcomes” programu jakości kształcenia Ashoka w USWPS.
W Polsko-Japońskiej Akademii Technik Komputerowych wielokrotnie został oceniony jako jeden z trzech najlepszych dydaktyków. Jest również twórcą kursów e-learningowych z marketingu, opartych na nauczaniu łamigłówkowym.
Doradzał licznym startupom w okresie inkubacji w zakresie marketingu. Był również koordynatorem regionalnym projektu 'Fabryka Innowacji’, gdzie odpowiadał za zarządzanie i promocję projektu z ramienia PJATK. W ramach projektu 'e-samodzielni’ prowadził szkolenia z 'Marketingu dla małych firm’ oraz 'Marketingu szeptanego’.
Posiada również doświadczenie w prowadzeniu specjalistycznych szkoleń językowych dla klientów korporacyjnych oraz realizacji licznych tłumaczeń ustnych i pisemnych. Obecnie, poza dydaktyką, jego największą pasją są reklamy Google, w których jest certyfikowanym ekspertem.

Graduated from the Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Translator Training Studies at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw (2015).
An academic lecturer at the Warsaw School of Economics, conducting Business and Economic English classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also teaches American pronunciation and English idiom exercises for undergraduate students as elective courses.
He has experience in conducting American Studies courses, such as American Culture and Society, as well as American Political Life and Institutions.
He is responsible for translating and proofreading certain academic papers as the head of the team.
Chris Gotowski is a graduate of the University of Ottawa in Canada, where he studied political science and business management. He later completed an MBA program. He gained professional experience working at the Canadian Diplomatic Mission in the Public Affairs department, conducting interviews with prominent politicians in Poland and authoring articles and reports on the current political and economic climate in Poland. He performed in-depth analyses of the political landscape, electoral trends, and social sentiment. He continued his professional career at the Warsaw Business Journal as a journalist, writing articles about the dynamic and complex political landscape, the real estate sector, and the overall business environment in Poland. Later, he worked in the commercial real estate sector, collaborating with major global companies.
Chris Gotowski has been teaching in Poland for 10 years and focuses his lectures on international relations, negotiations and conflict resolution, and international business. Chris has appeared in television programs and podcasts as a regional expert on global issues.
Taking into account individual approaches to participants’ needs, the University reserves the right to make programmatic changes according to participants’ professional profile, substantive preparation, and interests. These changes may involve up to a maximum of 25% of the program content.

In the interest of ensuring the highest quality of education, we inform you that within the framework of the postgraduate program, individual subjects within selected thematic modules may require separate assessments or examinations.
The semester assessment takes the form of a knowledge test based on the program content.
All activities related to the evaluation of learning outcomes are carried out in accordance with the University’s guidelines and the applicable education standards.
This regulation applies to the edition starting in the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

External funding
Starting a postgraduate program does not have to be a financial burden. Getting funding for postgraduate studies is easier than you might think. Here are some of the available programs that you can take advantage of and complete your postgraduate studies at very attractive financial terms, with up to 100% funding. All you have to do is choose the best program for you, apply and start your postgraduate studies at the University of Economics and Human Sciences in Warsaw.
Please note that each participant individually contacts the project operator of a particular project to familiarize themselves with its terms and conditions. The project operators have their own regulations and accounting systems. After signing an agreement with an operator for a given service, contact the UEHS Postgraduate Education Center to provide the necessary documents and information.
The “OPEN” project
The initiative is co-financed by the European Social Fund and implemented by the Enterprise Development Foundation. The “Open” project is an offer of an interest-free loan for individuals who wish to expand their horizons. The loan can be used to complete courses, postgraduate studies, internships, and placements. Moreover – obtaining a postgraduate certificate gives you a chance to redeem part of the amount!
Scholarship of the Labor Office of the Capital City of Warsaw to fund postgraduate studies
The project is aimed at the unemployed and individuals over 45 years of age. The City Council can finance the cost of postgraduate studies, up to PLN 4000. Similar programs are available at Labor Offices across the country – we encourage you to search for information on what your hometown has to offer.
National Educational Fund
The fund provides up to 100% funding for postgraduate studies. Any employer can apply for funds to provide education for their employees. The subsidy can be provided for postgraduate or MBA studies – all that is required is that the employer takes the initiative or gives permission for the employee to start postgraduate studies. State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People
The program is implemented with funds from the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People. The main objective of the project is to help people with disabilities obtain higher education by subsidizing the cost of education – funds can be obtained for, among other things, undergraduate, graduate, long-cycle graduate studies, and postgraduate studies.
